About

Waloo Days is about the time in a child’s life when “waloo” was the word for water, “psoon” meant spoon, and the word for fork wasn’t something we could put on a family blog. Cherish it!

Hello. My name is Allie and I’m a mom, wife, blogger, entrepreneur and animal lover. I was a live-in nanny through-out high school and for the earlier parts of college. It made me very aware of the responsibilities involved in raising a child and I knew that it was going to be a very long time before I was ready to give myself up to that kind of commitment.

When we found out we were pregnant 3 years ago, it was an amazing feeling, but it was also terrifying. While she was “planned” (who knew that all it would take was going off the pill for one month?), it was still somewhat surprising. Someone once told me that if I waited until I was ready to have a child, I would never have one. There we were, at the peak of our careers, and all of a sudden, we were faced with the multitude of questions that face every new parent. How were we going to manage a baby into our lives?

Sara arrived and all of the fear became muted with the joy of her. Every problem seemed to find a solution and the only important thing was our little family. The word “blessed” became a part of my vocabulary and challenges became bumps in the road.

This blog is about us, our little treasure, and those elusive “Waloo” Days.
